It's been 5 years!

I can’t believe it’s been five years since I moved to New York this month! I remember that day so well, and how I felt the days and weeks before that. When thinking about who I was back then, I feel like a complete stranger. I was so young, and I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. The only thing I knew was that NYC was where I wanted to be.

Leaving Oslo in January, five years ago—when I had just managed to settle down, and the new year was about to take off—to go to New York—the city in which I had no clue was going to be like—was a simple, yet hard choice of mine. It could be either a hit or a miss, but I like to think that with every great ending comes an even greater new beginning. I have come to understand that it is the hardest decisions in life that are the most important. Choose the difficult path over the easy one because these are the moments that will teach you the lessons of life. Lessons that is meant to break you, but can remold you into the better version of yourself if you are up for the challenge.

I have always been adventurous, seeking the unknown, no matter how scared or lonely I have felt. There is an old saying I always try to live by: “twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do." I will definitely stick to this one! It has given me so much already, and I am sure it will give me even more the years to come.
